This study aims to examine the role of Muhammadiyah as a civil society actor in mediating relations between the local government and the community in Ogan Komering Ulu (OKU) Regency. Using qualitative research methods and an interview approach, as well as a literature review, this study explores in depth the dynamics of interactions between Muhammadiyah, the local government, and residents, and how this organization contributes to building a participatory and constructive dialogue space. Data collection techniques were carried out through in-depth interviews with Muhammadiyah leaders and analysis of relevant academic literature. The results of the study indicate that Muhammadiyah plays a strategic role as a social mediator through policy advocacy, facilitating public dialogue, and conveying community aspirations in a structured manner. However, this role faces challenges such as limited formal access, bureaucratic resistance, and the need for strengthening organizational capacity. This study emphasizes the importance of strengthening partnerships between the government and civil society organizations to promote more inclusive and democratic governance.
